Frequently Asked Questions

When I try to open a .turbocollage file created using older versions of TurboCollage, I am asked to select the folder containing the image files used in the collage. Why?

This is needed so that TurboCollage can get access to the image files used in the collage under the sandbox restrictions. In simple terms, sandboxing makes your Mac more safe and secure. You can read more about App Sandbox here: http://developer.apple.com. Note that this link requires technical knowledge.

Can I save the collage and edit it later?

Yes, you can save your collage as a TurboCollage Collage Design Project (.turbocollageproj) file that can be opened later for editing. Read more here: Saving the Collage

What is the difference between a .turbocollage and a .turbocollageproj file?

.turbocollageproj is the file format that TurboCollage saves to starting from version 6.0.1. Earlier versions of TurboCollage saved collages to .turbocollage format. TurboCollage 6.0.1 can open a .turbocollage file created using earlier versions and save it to a .turbocollageproj file. Note that unlike .turbocollage files, newer .turbocollageproj files can be transferred to a different Mac and edited there.

I selected transparent background but my saved collage doesn't have a transparent background?

Make sure you export the collage as PNG image file format if you are using a transparent background.

I get borders around my printed collages?

We suggest that you first save the collage as a JPEG, PNG, or a TIFF image file and then print this file using any image viewer application instead of directly using File > Print menu at the top.
